Frozen Chapter 5 Written by: Submitted on: 2009/01/21 Rating: 0/5 with 262 views Ballerina stared with a bored expression through the bars of her cage at the Dalmatian a dozen feet in front of her. She did not understand why she was there. Just a few days before, she had been playing Frisbee in the backyard with her owners. Her owner's went to church like they did every Sunday morning. She was excited because they always brought dog treats home afterwards.
Ballerina waited patiently for her masters to return, but they never did. Many hours later, strangers came and put her into the back of a truck, taking her to the Humane Society. Some people came and then took her to a strange building where people jabbed sharp pointy objects into her. After they were finished torturing her, they took her to where she currently resided. She was sick of being locked up and wanted to play Frisbee. Her bladder felt like it was going to explode. She was hoping someone would come and let her out of the cage so she didn't have to urinate where she slept again. After she was unable to hold it any longer she went into the corner and started to do what she had to do.
A crash of shattering glass, followed by a loud thump and a rolling sound startled Ballerina, which caused her to spray urine into the face of her neighbor. The urine covered Pit Bull jumped up, started barking at her and biting the cage that separated them. She heard the sound of metal bouncing off the floor moments later. Suddenly her eardrums exploded with pain and she felt a wave of heat. The Pit Bull began to whimper as the Dalmatian was engulfed in flames while trying to paw her way out of the cage.
As the death fire reached Ballerina's cage, the Dalmatian was now dead, blackened from the explosion. With all the strength that she could muster, Ballerina charged at the cage door. The lock broke off and she flew out of the cage. By the time she hit the ground she was already dead from the explosion. Sounds of shattering fish tanks and screaming parrots filled the store.
The stench of burnt flesh and hair lingered in the air long after the fire department extinguished the flames. The floors were littered with giant craters, and there was broken glass everywhere. Not a single animal survived the terrorist attack.
"Obviously this was arson," a young fireman told the Captain.
"No shit it was arson!" the captain yelled. "How could you tell? Was it from the giant holes in the floor or the grenade shrapnel sticking out of this crispy dogs head?"
"Sorry sir," the trainee said, feeling slightly humiliated.
"My only question is why would someone blow up a pet store?" The captain asked as he looked at the Waldo's Pet Store sign.
-----------------------------
That will teach them pet store people not to mess with me again, Clyde thought as he drove his motorcycle away from the store he just destroyed. The way they treated me the other day was not righteous. There was no way Clyde was going to let some punk kid with a bat get the best of him. He fought for his country in Vietnam and saw his best friends die before his eyes, all in the name of freedom. Attempting to take away his freedom was the biggest insult possible to Clyde.
Visions of Monday morning filled Clyde's mind. When the register operator refused to do a little manual labor, Clyde saw this as his freedom being stripped from him. As soon as Clyde heard the word police, he panicked. He had warrants out for his arrest, and the last thing he needed was to deal with cops. I might have lost control of my temper a little bit, but that doesn't give the clerk the right to call the police, he thought angrily. Without thinking, he hit the man in the face with his helmet. An elderly lady started to scream at him. "When the cops get through with you, you are going to be sorry you did that to that poor man!"
Clyde looked down on the lady's finger and saw a diamond ring. "That's a nice ring you got there, lady," he snickered as he began to walk toward her, looking at her mink coat in disgust. "Seeing how you can afford to spend two thousand dollars on your coat, you should be able to afford to buy a new one."
"Stop messing with old ladies!" someone yelled hidden from Clyde's view.
"Why don't you say that to my face!" screamed Clyde angrily as he struck his helmet against a fish tank, causing it to shatter. He heard the running of footsteps approaching him from behind. His right knee exploded with pain and he fell to the ground. Someone had attacked him from behind with a weapon. He turned his head and saw an employee with a metal baseball bat. Clyde was too hurt to defend himself, so he did the only thing he could do. He ran for his life.
Clyde had planned his revenge for the next two days and finally agreed with himself that total annihilation of the store was the only way he could find inner peace. His plan worked perfectly. The store was destroyed and he was miles away. The police would never have any clue as to who blew it up.
Clyde pulled into the backyard of his home and greeted his two Pit Bulls. "I would have brought you some dog toys, but I blew them all up." He took the dogs inside with him and locked all the locks on the door; which consisted of 3 deadbolts, 2 chain locks and the typical handle lock. He opened his double barrel shotgun he kept next to the front door to make sure it was loaded. Satisfied the gun was ready; he proceeded into the secret back room where he stored his automatic machine guns and sniper rifles. It's coming soon, I can feel it, he thought to himself as he double-checked his artillery.
Clyde often spoke with God, and God told Clyde to prepare because the end was near. I have enough weapons to fight this entire city. When the end comes, I'm going to make sure I survive.
